Cornelius Nelson, AKA “Corn” was born on July 06, 1974 to Lorraine Nelson and James Scott, Sr., in the city of Toledo, Ohio. He departed this life before dawn, on January 27, 2018.
Cornelius attended LaGrange Elementary and Woodward High School and was employed by the Olive Garden.
Cornelius accepted Christ, and often told his Mom “You don’t have to go to Church to be saved and know Christ”.
He loved gymnastics, as flipping was his thing. He also had a great love for the music of Tupac Shakur (2 Pac), and lived life as though the lyrics of his poems were the tracks of his very life.
He was preceded in death by his son Tazon.
He leaves to cherish his memory, Mother and Step-Father, Lorraine Nelson and Willie Barnes; Father and Step-Mother, James Sr. and Pamela Scott; Children Donetta, Court’Nee, Lonsharay, Corneesha, Cornelius Jr., Cornelius, Kamyah, Sidnie, Talena and Keshaun; along with seven Grandchildren; Grandmother Syless Griswold; Sister’s and Brother’s Jill, Tyrone, Crystal – (Bryan), Ronotta, Ronelle, James Jr.; and a host of Aunt’s, Uncle’s Cousin’s, nieces, nephews and many friends.
The family will receive friends at the Castillo Funeral Home 1757 Tremainsville Rd. Sunday after 3 PM followed a Celebration of Life Ceremony at 7 PM. Interment will take place Monday at 11 AM in Historic Woodlawn Cemetery.
