Douglas Eugene Marcum

Douglas E. Marcum passed away unexpectedly Friday March 23, 2018 in his home at the age of 60. He was born August 29, 1957 in Hamilton, OH to Eugene & Charlene (Hornsby) Marcum. After moving to Toledo, Doug attended and graduated from Whitmer High School in 1975. In 1978, he married the love of his life Nancy Ann McCrindle and they started a family together.

Doug was an auto mechanic working on numerous vehicles but most of all he loved caring for his 1968 Blue Chevrolet Camaro.

He had many passions including following NASCAR specifically #24 Jeff Gordon, the Detroit Tigers, and Kid Rock music. Doug collected sports memorabilia including autographs of Michael Jordan and Shaquille O’Neal as well as NASCAR collectables which he cherished and decorated his home with. Doug also enjoyed traveling to the Smokey Mountains with his family always looking for bears.

He most of all loved his family who will dearly miss him.

He is preceded death by his parents and is survived by his wife Nancy; sons Doug Jr. (Laura) and Shane (Julie Windle); granddaughters Jaymee and Layla; daughter-in-law Nichole Diehl special cousin Sean Covert; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Family will be receiving friends at the Castillo Funeral Home 1757 Tremainsville Rd. Thursday after 11 AM followed by funeral services at 2 PM with interment to follow at Toledo Memorial Park.

The family prefers memorial tributes in his name be made on this website to offset funeral expenses.
