Andrew J. Kerekgyarto, Jr. went to be with Lord Friday April 12, 2019 in his home surrounded by his beloved family at the age of 69. He was born on July 20, 1949 in Toledo to Andrew J. Kerekgyarto, Sr. and Ruth (Shuff) Kerekgyarto. After high school, Andrew joined the U.S. Navy and served on the USS Ray SSN-653 a Sturgeon-class attack submarine. He was honorably discharged in 1976 and began his career with Xerox as a service technician where he remained for 35 years until his retirement in 2011.
He was an avid sports fan following the Detroit Tigers, Toledo Mud Hens and the Ohio State Buckeyes. Andrew’s faith was very important to him, he volunteered at Westgate Chapel, attended Lion of Judah World Outreach Center and started every morning by reading the Bible. His greatest joy was his family whom he loved spending time with especially his grandkids.
Andrew is preceded in death by his parents and his survived by his loving wife of 43 years Lorie (Coles); children Amy (Michael) Williams, Connie (Matt) McGrew, Andrea (Jason) Smythia, Rachel (Joss) Russella, Timothy Kerekgyarto, Evan Kerekgyarto, Samuel Kerekgyarto, Abigail (David) Arnopole and Sarah Kerekgyarto; grandchildren Finnian, Josiah, Gage, Chandler, Ilona and Jasmine; sister Carol Epps and brothers William (Janice) Kerekgyarto and Joe (Sue) Kerekgyarto.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at New Life Assembly of God Church 3230 Dustin Rd. Oregon, OH Monday at 1 PM. Interment will be private at Dayton National Cemetery.
