David Diaz

David Diaz, 54, passed away on Sunday night, November 17, 2019.  He was born in New York to parents; Elsie Martinez and David Diaz Cruz on February 8th, 1965.  He spent his childhood in Puerto Rico with his Aunt Tatty Martinez Cruz and Uncle Ernesto Diaz Cruz and cousins Micabil, Amaury, and Tatiana. 

David graduated Colegio San Jose’ class of 1982.  He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.  He later obtained his bachelor’s degree in science and mathematics from Murray State University.

David lived in Delta, OH with girlfriend Barbara Silveous (“Bonita”).  He was employed with Alliance One as a Bilingual Credit Accounts Adjuster, while attending Siena Heights University.

David so loved music that he also owned and operated a side business, “Crazy Dave’s DJ Service.”  His passion for the art lit up his personality, as well as the life of everyone he played for.  David loved his children and worked diligently throughout his life to support his family.  His perseverance and intelligence enabled him to overcome many excruciating trials; his enormous heart and wonderful soul ensued that he did so with the utmost compassion.  May he rest in peace and feel the love his friends and family share in his honor. 

David was preceded in death by his parents; Elsie Martinez and David Diaz Cruz; his Aunt Tatty and Uncle Ernesto; and cousins Tatiana Diaz Martinez, and Amaury Diaz Martinez.  He is survived by his children Angel and Brandon Smith; grandson Peyton Holmes; cousin; Micabil Diaz and girlfriend Barbara Silveous. He shall never be forgotten.

Family will receive friends at the Imes Funeral Home & Crematory 311 N. 4th St. Murray, KY 43071 Saturday Nov. 30th after 12 Noon followed a Memorial Service at 1 PM.
