Alicia Marie Knapik, age 95, passed away peacefully on Monday,    March 4, 2024 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg.   She was born on September 23, 1928 to Stanley and Josephine (Kwapich) Babka. Alicia graduated from Whitney High School in 1946 and was married to Joseph J. Knapik, Jr. on April 26, 1952.  They were happily married for 49 years.

Alicia enjoyed being a housewife, and maintained an impeccable home and yard.  She was an excellent cook and baker, and her family looked forward to the sweet and sour cabbage, apple pie cuts, and various pies that she brought to family gatherings. She was also a loving Schnauzer mom.  They brought much joy to her life.

Alicia was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brothers Melvin, Norman and Raymond.  She is survived by many nephews, nieces, great nephews, great nieces, sisters-in-law Dolly Knapik and Genevieve Zawodni, and special neighbors, Steve and Lisa.

The family would also like to express their sincere appreciation to her many caregivers over the past several years. Her family will receive friends Monday, March 11, at the Castillo Funeral Home, 1757 Tremainsville Rd, Toledo after 10 AM followed by Funeral services at 12 Noon followed by interment at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Alicia's name to the donor's favorite charity.
