Amy Beth (Alexander) Kagey passed away September 22, 2026 in Flower Hospital at the age of 58. Amy was the firstborn daughter of the late Marvin Glen and Karen L. Alexander Born on July 12, 1968, at Flower Hospital in Toledo, Ohio, she was the older sister of the late Jeffrey Wayne Alexander and graduated from Whitmer High School in 1986.

On September 9, 1995, Amy married Brian Douglas Kagey at Wildwood Metropark in Toledo. They shared 31 years of marriage until her passing on September 22, 2026. On September 5, 1996, Amy and Brian welcomed their first child, a son, Trevor James Kagey. Two years later, they welcomed their daughter, Brenna Grace Kagey.

A loving and devoted mother, Amy would have turned the world upside down for her children. Her strong work ethic and natural motherly instincts helped her create a rich and fulfilling childhood for them. She chose to homeschool Trevor and Brenna so she could spend more time with them, pass down treasured family traditions, and share summers at the park where she had married their father.

For nearly 20 years, Amy ran a successful online collectibles store on eBay. She was known as an expert in vintage perfume bottles and wore many other hats when it came to her extensive knowledge of antiques.

Amy loved spending time with friends at trivia and name-that-tune gatherings, where she was often regarded as the most knowledgeable person at the table. Her quick thinking and remarkable ability to retain information—from music to television and movies—impressed everyone around her and was a talent few could match. She also loved cooking and baking; her homemade macaroni and cheese and corn casserole were among the favorites of family and friends.

Amy loved being near the water. The ocean was her happy place, and her heart belonged to South Carolina, with Florida a close second. She treasured coffee outings with her daughter, garage-sale adventures with her son, day trips to Port Clinton with her husband, concerts with friends, and visits with one of her best friends in Florida. Her love for the 1980s ran deep.

Although Amy was a private person, she never met a stranger. She lived freely and loved loudly. Quick-witted and warm, she made everyone feel included simply by being present. She was described as the sweetest woman anyone could meet. Her smile seemed to fill most of her beautiful face, except for her beautiful blue eyes, which twinkled when she was happy.

Amy was a dear friend to so many and a loving, compassionate wife and mother—someone no one could ever forget. She is now reunited with her beloved parents, aunt, grandmother, and little brother.

Though Amy may be gone from this earth, the legacy of her intelligence, generosity, and grace will never fade from the hearts of all who love her.

Amy’s Celebration of Life will take place on October 3, 2026 at Fairgreen Presbyterian Church 32 20West Laskey Road from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A donation box will be available, and all contributions will be applied toward Amy’s final expenses and medical bills.
