Carl F. Olsen passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2017 surrounded by his family.  He was born October 5, 1935 in Toledo, OH to Olaf & Ethel (Csizi) Olsen.

He graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1953 and soon after, joined the U.S. Navy Reserves.  He spent the majority of his career at Dana Corporation and at the University of Toledo as a courier.

Carl was a kind, thoughtful, and hard-working man who always put others first.  He centered his life around God, family, and friends and never focused on his own wants and needs.  On October 11, 2017 he celebrated 59 years of marriage with his wife Eleanor who he loved dearly.  Together they raised 5 children.  Carl was a loving and supportive father who never missed a single sporting or school event and that continued with his grandchildren.  He took great pride in his family and they couldn't have asked for a better husband, father, or papa.

In his free time, Carl loved being outdoors and maintaining his yard.  When indoors, he enjoyed researching historical cars and airplanes, and building models of them from scratch.

Carl is preceded in death by his sister Charlotte Klear and is survived by his loving wife Eleanor (Soldner); daughters Laura Reynolds, Shawn (Robert) McNair, Carla (Donald) Elliott, and sons Todd (Karen) Olsen, and Tim Olsen; grandchildren Jessica, Brian, Evan, Roman, Ava, Erica, Laura, Jessica, and Leah; great grandchild Avery; sister Kathy (Rick) Joseph, and many nieces, nephews, and in laws.

Carl's family will receive family and friends at the Castillo Funeral Home (1757 Tremainsville Rd.) on Friday, November 3rd from 2:00-8:00 pm where a scripture service will be held at 7:30pm.  Funeral prayers will be offered Saturday, November 4th at 9:30am in the funeral home, followed by a funeral mass at 10:00am at Christ the King Catholic Church.  This will be followed by entombment at Resurrection Cemetery.  A celebration of life will follow at the Strawberry Acres Lodge located at 950 S. McCord Rd., Holland, OH.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial tributes be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
