Carmen Sanchez, 69, of Winfield, Alabama passed away on Monday, May 12, 2025 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, Mississippi with her loving husband at her side. She was born in Adrian, Michigan on July 13, 1955 to Richard and Refugia (Cuca) Rodriguez. Carmen is survived by her husband, Jerry Sanchez, her Mother Cuca (Lupe Rosas), her Sisters, Virgie (Bobby) Gonzalez, Tina (Steve) Villegas, Teresa Rodriguez, Anita (Harold) Prielipp, and her brother, Eduardo Rodriguez (Angie Christensen), along with many loving nieces, nephews, godchildren, and in-laws. A special mention to her girls (Dogs) Pearl and Lacey. Carmen was preceded in death by her father Richard, her sister Rebecca, mother-in-law, Rosa Sanchez, and her four-legged babies Molly, Chewy, Chata, and Bruiser. Carmen was a 1974 graduate of Whiteford high school in Ottawa Lake, Michigan. Growing up in Michigan, She made her first communion, confirmation, and married the love of her life, Jerry, all at St Joseph Church in Sylvania, Ohio. With her Catholic faith being a big part of her life, she attended Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Winfield, Alabama. She would recite the holy rosary daily for the sick, and for anyone in need of prayer. Carmen enjoyed spending time with her husband Jerry while taking care of the yard, planting flowers, listening to Tejano music, making phone calls to the sick, decorating for holidays, going to flea markets and garage sales, along with feeding and watching her hummingbirds. She was a devoted volunteer at the Vista Care Nursing home in Winfield, Alabama, loved butterflies, and purple, her favorite color. Though she lived states away, she stayed up to date with family and friends here back in Michigan and Ohio, with many family trips down to Alabama over the years. She would also send her love through daily phone calls, family group texts, and of course greeting cards and care packages, to all for special occasions. Loved dearly, as a Wife, Daughter, Sister, Dog Mom, Cousin, Aunt, Tia, Godmother, or friend, We won't say goodbye, but instead "Until We Meet Again." In Jesus name, we pray. AMEN! As a loving tribute, the family request a donation of a new card for any occasion to continue her card sending ministry, to wear the color purple in her honor, and/or bring a rosary to help us recite the Holy Rosary."

Her family will receive friends at the Castillo Funeral Home 1757 Tremainsville Rd. Tuesday from 3 - 7 PM and Wednesday after 9 AM at Gesu Catholic Church  2049 Parkside Blvd. Toledo  43607 where funeral Mass will be held at 10 AM followed by interment at Whiteford Union Cemetery.
