Obituary

He was more than a good man; he was a great one. He passed away with his wife and family surrounding him leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter and music. Cassim proudly worked at Jeep for 37 years. Passionate about automotives, most of all motorcycles, specifically his Harley Davidson. Cassim was an avid motorcyclist. From riding the Dragons Tail to attending Sturges multiple times, accompanied by his wife, friends and family. Anyone who knew him knew he was a ride to live, live to ride kind of a guy. Cassim was one of the most kind and honest men to walk the face of the Earth. A wonderful father of two daughters, always ready to listen and give the best most selfless advice, only when asked. He was compassionate and understanding, always there when you needed, unless it was on a Sunday with good bike weather, the only day he'd make you wait. And worth the wait it was, cause he had a way of picking up the mood like no one else. He made sure that if you were with him, you were just a harmonica away from having the best time with him. From cracking nuts and shooting darts, his blues coating every moment in smooth laughter. Cassim was a very sentimental man, so much so that his garage was covered in the best of his life's memories with his loved ones. His garage was a reflection of his soul, and the memories with his friends and family shine throughout the space. He was a proud family man and loved that he was a part of the Shaheen family. There is no one he respected more than his sister Anessa, and there was no one he had a better time around than his brothers David, Kamel and Nazem. His wife Barbara was his world, married for 46 years. He would become and do anything for her, with a yes dear it was done. He will be remembered for his laughter, his strength, and great character. Although he is not here, there are so many amazing things that we can remember him by. From a bluesy beat to a Harley engine, we will carry him the rest of our days in our hearts, minds, and our spirit. Cassim is survived by his wife, Barb Shaheen, daughters Coral (Mike) and Angela (Robert) grandchildren Heaven, Dinny, and Donnie, son of the late Mike and Rudy Mae Shaheen, brother of Kamel (Sherry), Nazem (Robyn), Aneesa and David.

His family will receive friends at the Castillo Funeral Home 1757 Tremainsville Rd. Sunday after 3 PM followed by a Celebration of Life service at 6 PM.
