Charlene Smith of Toledo Ohio, was reunited with her beloved daughter Andrea Smith Buchler, on June 12, 2021 at the age of 86. Born in Milwaukee Wisconsin to Erna and Leon McLaughlin, she later moved to Toledo and married her husband of 66 years, Charles "Dick"Smith. She worked as a phone operator for the Ohio Bell company and later as a long distance operator for AT&T. She was a loving mother to her 3 children, Michael (Elizabeth) Smith, Karen McIlhargey, and Andrea. Her love and generosity was heaped upon her grandchildren Matthew (Heather) Smith, Jonathan (Kristy) Smith, Martin (Sally) Ellis, Gregory (Vicky Garber) Ellis, Daniel (Amber) Ellis, Kelly Guzman, Kristi (Zach Badhorn) Germain, Kady (Drew) Snyder and Jocelyn (Mike) Bongorno.  Her legend will live on in the hearts and minds of her great-grandchildren Janelle, Nathan, Collin, Lucas, Gabriel, Denver, Aubri,Xander, Marie, Logan, Delilah, Cecelia,Lucy, Emma, Sophie, Wesson, Graycin, Daniel, and Kaden. She loved to spend time with her family and at the casino with her best friend Pat Knaggs.

Charlene was a phenomenal woman who meant the world to all who knew her. So loving, accepting, caring, fiesty, and generous. She is missed already.

Her family will receive friends at the Castillo Funeral Home 1757 Tremainsville Rd. Wednesday after 4 PM followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 7 PM.
