Constance Lynn
Holmes
July 14, 1952 – October 11, 2021

Connie met her soulmate Harold "Billy" Mumford in 1966 and went on to share a life filled with everlasting memories. Connie was a deeply devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren and family.
Connie was an avid reader, excellent writer, lover of music, a giver, and had a divine gift of compassion and hospitality. She was the life of the party and her warm, sweet, and loving embrace gave confidence to an entire generation. Connie shared a special relationship with all her loved ones, with an exceptional soft spot for children. She was kind and generous to everyone she encountered, and never left a child behind.
She is preceded in death by her parents William Howard Holmes and Eleanor Mitchell Holmes. Sisters, Carol Ann Holmes, Rosemary Holmes, and Robin Fuller. Brothers, William, Lonnie and Robert Holmes.
She leaves to cherish her memory with her husband of 49 years Harold Mumford Jr.; son Edward Holmes; daughters Renée (Ryan) Morgan, and Krystal Mumford; granddaughters Savannah Holmes and Zoë Lynn Morgan; grandson Ryan "RJ" Morgan Jr.; sisters Cynthia Anderson, and Linda (Eugene) Ogburn; best friend Vonzell Powell; fur baby Pebbles; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives.
A celebration of her life will be held at Castillo Funeral Home on October 20, 2021. Visitation is at 11am with the memorial service beginning at 1pm, followed by a celebration of life dinner at Hotbox Bistro from 5pm to 9pm ET.
We will miss her more than words can capture while trusting her spirit will continue to walk with us. Connie lived her life for her loved ones, forgave quickly, loved unconditionally and was always there. We will honor her life by seeking to embody her same beautiful spirit.
