September 3, 2016 at 12:11 a.m., Daniel Hamilton left his earthly body at the request of our Heavenly Father.  He was born November 7, 1953.  Danny was a graduate of Maumee High School.  In 1975 he became employed by the former Penn Central, Conrail, Norfolk Southern Railroad as a Crossing and Stone Train Foreman.  After 27 years of service, he ended his career.

Danny married Carol Edgington on October 29, 1976 and they enjoyed 40 years together.  They had two children, Kelly Hamilton and Todd Hamilton that survive him.

Danny was a huge sports fan.  He loved the Detroit Tigers, OSU, golf, basketball, NASCAR and the Philadelphia Eagles.  In earlier years he was a great bowler carrying an average of over 200.  Danny also enjoyed golfing, you could often find his clubs in a nearby creek after a bad shot!

He enjoyed spending spring, summer and fall at their lakefront property, Lakewood Mobile Homes in Fremont, IN.  You could find him and grandson Francis mowing, fishing, swimming, boating or just relaxing and enjoying the view.

Always the helper, he took care of snow removal at St. Lucas Lutheran Church.  He and Francis spent countless hours snow blowing, salting and keeping the sidewalks, steps and curbs clear and safe.

He and son Todd enjoyed several years of racing at Toledo Speedway in the Sportsman Series.  Danny was the Pit Crew and supporter of TMH Racing.

Throughout his life, Danny helped many friends and family members - he couldn't say the word NO to anyone.  He was respected and loved by all that knew him and he will be very much missed.

He is survived by his wife and soulmate, Carol; daughter Kelly; son Todd (Michelle Wilson); grandchildren Francis, Mikayla, Cadance and Todd Jr.; sisters LeeAnne (Bob) Jagodzinski, Diane (Randy) McAtee, Carol (Bill) Owen, Beth Kerekes; brother Michael Hamilton; numerous nieces and nephews.  He was proceeded in death by his parents Patricia and Francis "Charlie" Hamilton.

A Celebration of Life will be held at St. Lucas Lutheran Church, 745 Walbridge Ave., Toledo OH 43609 on Saturday, September 10, 2016 at 10:00 a.m., services at 11:00, with a luncheon to follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family is accepting donations.
