Aguilar
August 1, 1976 – October 25, 2025
It is with deep sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of David Aguilar on October 25th, 2025 at the age of 49. He fought valiantly but succumbed to cancer and heart complications. David, affectionately known as "Day Day," was born on August 1st, 1976 to Edna Aguilar and Raul Reyna.
David was a laid-back individual with a strong personality and a great sense of humor. He adored his children and grandchildren, and was a dedicated Detroit Lions fan, faithfully watching every game day, win or lose. In his leisure time, he found solace on the front porch.
David was preceded in death by his grandfather David Trinidad, his father Raul Reyna, and the Love of his life the mother of his children, Severa Monica Contreras, and son Reyes Daniel Aguilar.
He is survived by his children Joshua Jesus Lopez, David Aguilar Jr (Claudia), Reyna (Noah) Aguilar-Heath, and Angel Aguilar, as well as his grandchildren Monica, Olivia Aguilar, and Nevaeh Heath. He is also survived by his loving parents Edna (Ismael) Ruiz and Kelly Toska-Reyna, and his siblings Gloria Jean Reyna (Cito), Esmeralda (Alaeddin Alhgkhalil) Reyna-Abu Nada, Raul (Riki) Reyna, Maria (Mike) Lindsey, Roberta (Javier) Ruiz, Samuel (Tyra) Reyna, and his grandmother Angelita Trinidad, along with numerous uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, and cousins.
His family will receive friends at the Castillo Funeral Home 1757 Tremainsville Rd. Tuesday from 2 – 6 PM. Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday in SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church 738 St. Clair at 10 AM. St.
The entire family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Fresenius Kidney Care, St. Vincent, and U of M Medical Center for their care and support during this difficult time.
