David B. Etzel passed away Friday June 4, 2021in Skilled Care Center at the age of 79. He was born February 3, 1942 in Toledo to Raymond and Elizabeth (Hanley) Etzel and graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1960.

David owned and operated the Art Mattress Company for over 30 years before retiring in 2010.

His passion was cars; he loved Corvettes and Street Rods. David was a longtime member of the Placers Car Club of Toledo of which he was very proud of. He also enjoyed boating and was a member of Riverview Yacht Club. Whether it was at the yacht club or at a Car Show, you may spot David enjoying a frosty cold one.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sister Joanne Ach; brothers William Etzel and Fr. Raymond Etzel; niece Jane Gensler; nephews  Joe Etzel, Joe Ach and Roger Ach and brother-in-law Arthur Ach. David is survived by his son David (Val) Etzel; fiancé Dixie Crace; grandchildren David Etzel, Suzanne Lewandowski and Daniel Lewandowski; great grandsons Davien and Brayden; and sister-in-;aw Julie Etzel.

Family will receive friends at the Castillo Funeral Home 1757 Tremainsville Rd. Thursday from 4 – 7 PM where private services will be held on Friday.Memorial tributes may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation  in David's name.
