IN LOVING MEMORY OF
David Paul
Kirsch
May 19, 1965 – August 27, 2025
David Paul Kirsch, 60, passed away on August 27, 2025, in Toledo, Ohio. Born on May 19, 1965, in the same city he called home throughout his life, David brought energy, humor, and music to those around him. A gifted musician with a deep passion for rhythm and melody, David was well known in the Toledo music scene. As a talented drummer who played in numerous local bands, he earned the affectionate nickname "Caveman Kirsch"—a testament to both his powerful playing style and his larger-than-life presence on stage. In addition to drumming, David also enjoyed playing the guitar and singing, often sharing his musical talents with friends and fellow musicians. David had a quick wit and a natural gift for storytelling. Whether recounting tales from his musical adventures or simply making others laugh with his sharp sense of humor, he had a way of lighting up any room he entered. He is survived by his mother Joann Carter; brother Dan (Shelly) Kirsch; sisters Debbie (James) Warren and Donna (Dave) Bauman; nephews Lucas Wall, Devin Kirsch, Dillon (Selena) Kirsch, and Andy Lenhart; nieces Alexa Bauman, Nicole (Tyler) Gorman, and Lydia (Todd) Way. David also leaves behind his best friend Wayne Gwinner, whose friendship remained a constant source of support and companionship. David was preceded in death by his father Kenneth Kirsch; stepfather Gerald Carter; and brother Douglas Kirsch. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Rosary Care Center for their compassionate care of David during his final days. Special thanks are also given to NWO Hospice for their support. May David's memory live on through the music he shared and the stories he told so well.
