David M. Schnapp died July 2, 2016 in UTMC at the age of 76. He was born Aug. 11, 1939 to Paul G. and Vivian (Calkins) Schnapp. He was the oldest of their five sons. His brothers survive him, Thomas, Timothy (Anne), Martin (Ellen) and Leo (Carol) and sister Mary Jo (Frank) Antalek; thirteen nephews and two nieces.

Dave treasured his friendships with many of his good neighbors on their block long street in the old west end.

Dave had several hobbies including reading mystery novels, working crossword puzzles and collecting coins.  More than a hobby to him was his avid following of the Cleveland Indians, rejoicing in their wins and bemoaning their losses. Even closer to his heart was his lifelong joy in the music of Johann Strauss, listening to it and playing it on his piano.

Dave's family will receive friends at the Castillo Funeral Home 1757 Tremainsville Rd. Thursday from 4 -  8 PM where funeral prayers will be held Friday at 9 AM before continuing to the Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church for a Funeral Mass at 9:30 AM followed by interment at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited at 7:30 PM Thursday in the funeral home.
