David C. Smith "Lurch", 39, of Toledo, OH tragically passed away in the early morning of September 4th, 2020, due to a car accident in Temperance, MI. David was born in Phoenix, AZ on March 17 th , 1981 to David Smith and Jodi Davis. David served three years in the U.S. Army as a Combat Engineer and deployed once to Afghanistan. David enjoyed playing basketball on the weekends with his brothers and spending time with friends and family. He was an avid sports fan and a "professional" in fantasy football as he was seeking his third consecutive championship this year. He will be greatly missed, we will especially miss his hacking cough, his smile, and his crazy laugh. We love you David. David is survived by his parents, David Smith (Janni) and Jodi Davis (Richard), brothers, Adam Smith (Cari), Jacob Smith (Alexis), and Jonathan Smith (Christian), his sister, Hannah Sullivan (Brandon), his niece Sebella Sullivan, his nephew, Jeffrey Sullivan and his dog, Bentley.

His Family will receive friends for limited visitation (masks must be worn, 40 in the funeral home at a time, guest please limit your time so that others may have a chance to pay their respects and social distancing will be observed inside facilities) at the Castillo Funeral Home 1757 Tremainsville Rd. Friday from 4 to 8  PM and Private Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday.
