Erma Jean Walker-Wright was born on April 22, 1945 in Jackson, MI to the late Edwin Walker and Rose Mathis-Wraggs.  She was the eldest out of eight siblings.  She went to Libbey High School and graduated in 1963.

She worked at Ashland Nursing Home for 22 years as a State Certified Nursing Aide.  She met the love of her life Warren G. Wright Sr. in Chicago, IL.  On December 23, 1966 that is when Erma and Warren Wright Sr. decided to become one.  To this union came three children: Warren Wright Jr., Darryl Wright, and Andre Wright.

In 1970, that is when Erma and Warren Wright Sr. decided to move to Toledo, Oh.  She loved going to church worshipping and serving the Lord.  She loved spending time with family and would volunteer for events when they came around.  She loved sewing and cooking especially if she knew your birthday was coming around she would make you a delicious birthday platter.

She will be joining her husband of 48 years Warren G. Wright Sr. at the Pearly Gates, and he will be welcoming her with a big hug and kiss saying, "My Suga Pie is finally home."  Behind him will be her mother, father, stepfather, 2 sisters and 3 brothers.  She leaves behind to cherish her memories two sisters; Caroline King, Delia Walker and her special sister Norma King; three sons; Warren Wright Jr., Darryl Wright, and Andre Wright.  She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Friends and Family are welcome for limited visitation at the Castillo Funeral Home 1757 Tremainsville Rd. (masks must be worn, 30 guests in the funeral home at a time, and social distancing will be observed inside facilities; please limit visiting to 10 min. or less so others may come in to pay their respects) Friday, January 29, from 4-7pm. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 30, at 10 am followed by an internment at Historic Woodlawn Cemetery.
