Esther Marie
Dorsett
Jan 26, 1947 — Oct 5, 2026
Toledo
Esther Dorsett, 79, passed away on October 5, 2026, surrounded by the love of the family she devoted her entire life to.
To know Esther was to know what it meant to be deeply loved. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose family was, without a doubt, the greatest love of her life. She gave so much of herself to the people she loved and never needed a reason to show up, lend a hand, cook a meal, or simply be there. Her love was steady, unconditional, and felt in a thousand little ways.
Esther spent her career as a labor and delivery nurse, a profession she truly loved. She spent years caring for mothers and babies and helping bring new life into the world. It was a perfect reflection of who she was—someone with a naturally caring heart who found purpose in taking care of others.
When she wasn’t working, Esther could usually be found doing the things that made her happiest: cooking something for the people she loved, tending to her garden, crocheting, or simply spending time with her family. She found joy in making a home, making memories, and making sure the people around her were taken care of.
She leaves behind her son, Michael Dorsett; grandchildren, Jordan Dorsett, Brandon Reddington, and Michael Dorsett; and her beloved great-grandchildren.
Her family was blessed with the kind of love that doesn’t end when someone is gone. It stays—in the recipes she made, the things she taught them, the traditions she created, the stories they will tell, and the countless memories they will carry with them for the rest of their lives.
For those who were lucky enough to know Esther, her absence will be felt in the smallest moments. There will be an empty place at the table, a familiar voice that is no longer there, and countless moments when her family will wish they could call her, hug her, or spend just one more ordinary day with her.
But there will also be gratitude.
Gratitude for every year, every holiday, every meal, every laugh, every hug, and every memory. Gratitude for the love she gave so freely and for the incredible family she leaves behind.
In accordance with Esther’s wishes, there will be no traditional funeral service. Her family will gather at a later date for a celebration of life—a time to come together, share stories, laugh through the tears, and celebrate the remarkable woman she was.
Esther’s life was measured not only in years, but in the lives she touched and the love she left behind. Her greatest legacy will always be her family.
She was loved deeply.
She will be missed endlessly.
And she will be carried in the hearts of her family forever
