George E. Henzler passed away May 5, 2017 and joined the love of his life Phyllis and daughter Vickie Sue in the afterlife. He was born January 26, 1928 in Toledo to Charles & Irene Henzler. George was a 1946 graduate of Whitmer High School. He served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II. After his service, he became a firefighter in the Toledo Fire Department for the next 30 yrs. until his retirement in 1981.
George loved fishing and was an avid amateur radio operator. Spending time with his family was his biggest joy.
His memories will live on through the loved ones he left behind daughter Sandra (Steve) Appley; son Daryl (Linda) Henzler, Sr.; grandchildren Mark Moussaed, LeeAnne (Jason) Heal, Daryl Henzler, Jr., Tyler (Amie) Henzler; and eight great grandchildren. He touched us all in a special way so through our love and memory he will always live on.
A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held Friday June 2 at 6 PM in the Castillo Funeral Home 1757 Tremainsville Rd which will include a Toledo Fire Dept. Last Alarm Service and U.S. Army Military Funeral Honors. Memorial tributes may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
