(Carroll) Huffman
January 1, 1936 – March 20, 2022
Gladys Jean Huffman, age 86,went home to be with her Lord and Savior on March 20, 2022 at the Franciscan Center under Hospice Care surrounded by family. Gladys was born on January 1, 1936, in Huntington, WV to the late Milton and Rhoda (Gill) Carroll. Gladys was the youngest of 13 children. Gladys grew up in Huntington and at the age of 18 moved to Toledo Ohio. She worked at Toledo Towel Supply where she met and married Carl Huffman. Gladys had eight children, so her house was always full. She loved to play cards with family. She loved her Sudoko and puzzle books. She would try and teach others how to play and most of us just couldn't get it.Mom, as she was known to many, was a giver. She wanted to make sure everyone was fed and taken care of and always put others needs before her own.Gladys had big heart. She helped with everyone's children throughout her years.If anyone called her and she was cooking, she would say, so and so is coming over and I need to cook something. She had an unconditional love for everyone. Gladys loved her children so much and one of things she said right before her passing was, "I love all my children".
Gladys worked for Hunt Wesson Foods for over 30 years retiring as a supervisor. She made many friends there. Gladys is preceded in death by both parents, Milton Carroll and Rhoda (Gill) Carroll.Husband Carl W Huffman, sonCurtis W Huffman, and grandson Keith Huffman Sr., granddaughter Angela Walton and special daughter in law Arshan Huffman. She leaves to cherish her memory her sister, Ramona Tomlin of Huntington, WV, daughters, Ramona Huffman, Marlene Lee (Paul) of Goldsboro, NC, Carla Greene (Duane), Martha Huffman of Detroit, MI, sons, Walter Huffman (Pat), Ray Huffman, and Michael Lopez (Tina).Special friend Sy Baker. A good friend to mom for over 50 years. She leaves numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great, great, grandchildren.
Family will receive friends at the Castillo Funeral Home 1757 Tremainsville Rd. Friday MRCH 25, 2022 after 10 AM followed a Celebration of Life Service at 11 AM. Interment Historic Woodlawn Cemetery to follow.
