Celebration of Life
Castillo Funeral Home & Cremation Services
Starts at 11:00 am
Harvey W. Eagleston (September 29, 1959 - February 5, 2026) passed away surrounded by the love of his family. Harvey was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend whose presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Harvey is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Ruth Eagleston. Together they built a life rooted in love, loyalty, and family. He was a proud and loving father to Lindsey Eagleston, Eric (Karli) Eagleston, and Ross Eagleston. He was a cherished "Poppy" to his grandchildren—Alexander, Haley, Ava, Jaxson, Conrad, and Eden—who brought him endless joy and pride.
He is also survived by his parents, Donald and Karen Eagleston; his brothers, Joe (Jane) Eagleston and Michael (Donna) Eagleston; and extended family.
Harvey was preceded in death by his sister, Susan Eagleston, whom he loved dearly and carried in his heart always. ,
A dedicated and hardworking man, Harvey spent over 40 years with Aramark, beginning in 1984 as Assistant Manager in Mansfield, Ohio, was General Manager at Toledo Powertrain from 1988-2007, and Food Service Director at Lucas County Jail from 2009 until his retirement. After assisting operations across Ohio, Michigan, Florida, and Arizona Departments of Corrections, he retired in 2021, only to return from 2022 to 2025 as an IN2WORK instructor. In 2025, he graduated over 300 students across multiple states receiving an Impact Award. He continued his service in 2026 by providing lunch at local charter schools. He often remarked that he was truly blessed by his career, leaving a legacy defined by a record of zero lost accounts and a genuine heart for teaching. Outside of work, he was an avid and passionate bicyclist, riding thousands of miles each year. Cycling was more than a hobby—it was a source of freedom, discipline, and joy that reflected Harvey's determination and love for the outdoors.
A service to celebrate Harvey's life will be held on May 18th at 11:00 AM at Castillo Funeral Home, with a luncheon to follow.
Harvey will be remembered for his devotion to family, his steady and generous spirit, and the love he gave so freely. His legacy lives on through the many lives he touched and the family who will forever hold him close. Memorial tributes may be made to the American Heart Association
