James Michael Sweetman, 71, of Toledo, Ohio, succumbed to liver cancer in Hospice of Northwest Ohio, surrounded by his family on October 10, 2017.

Jim is survived by his wife Beverly of 49 years, daughter Christine Sweetman, sons Michael Sweetman, Vincent Sweetman, James Sweetman, sisters Kathleen (Doug) Kendall, Gerarda Sweetman, Mary (Michael) Ferguson, and many loving nieces, nephews and extended family.

Jim enjoyed watching and playing sports and played softball well into his 60s. He also enjoyed movies, reading, Sudoku, and lottery scratch-offs. Jim was always there to help friends with household projects, coaching sports, or anything else that was ever needed.

A special thank you to St. Luke's Hospital in Maumee and Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Toledo for their loving care and support. Also thank you to Castillo Funeral Home for all of the arrangements.
