James Frederick Vance passed away in his home on Friday December 4, 2020 at the age of 74. He was born June 18, 1946 in Toledo to Frederick & Evelyn (Bean) Vance and graduated from Northwood High School in 1964. Jim received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Toledo and then earned his PhD in Chemistry from the University of Maryland. He was a chemist for Inceptor Inc. for over 20 yrs.

Jim was a Ham Radio Operator, played computer games, collected Roman Helmets and was a fan of Star Trek. He also was a member of Maumee Fraternal Order of Eagles #2562.

Jim is preceded in death by his son Michael Vance and parents. He is survived by his wife Diana Skoda Prato Vance; grandson Zach Andrews; stepdaughter Kristy Prato and sister Mary Jane Vance.
