Joyce Marie Lake passed away on August 3, 2025 peacefully with her children and grand dog, Piper, by her side at August Haus in Gaylord, Michigan where she was a resident since February.

She was born March 24, 1954 in Toledo to Edward and Kathleen (Norris) Vaculik and was a Whitmer High School graduate. Joyce was a small business owner before being a Cosmetology Instructor at Toledo Academy of Beauty and Whitmer High School.  She was a stylist at AJ's Salon and worked in food service at Toledo Hospital.

Joyce moved to Indian River, Michigan in 2021and was active at Glow Community Center in Indian River.

She loved playing euchre, Rummycube, avid golfer, couldn't say no to a casino trip and was a huge University of Michigan football fan. Most of all she loved spending time with friends, grandkids and great kids for any occasion.

She is preceded in death by husband Garry Lake; parents Edward and Kathleen Vaculik, brother Phil Vaculik, sister Beth Ann Cherry, stepdaughter Carrie Lake and daughter-in-law Candy Budd-Crowley.

Joyce is survived by son Aaron (Amanda) Crowley; Daughter Sarah (James) Piotowski; stepdaughters Lou Ann (Dave Shaw) Lake, Brandy (Ron) Kaufman; sister Christine Spradling; brother Stephen (Karen) Vaculik; grandkids Allison (Drew) Snyder, Ashlynn (Zeke) Torres, Alaina Crowley, Austin Crowley, Tyler Crowley, Joscelyn Cook, Kyle (Tori) Lake, Jacob  (Lindsey) Hollstein, Mara Kaufman and CJ Kaufman as well as several great grandchildren and friends.

In lieu of flowers make donation to Dialysis Patient Citizens or Alport Syndrome Foundation.

Her family will receive friends at the Castillo Funeral Home 1757 Tremainsvlle Rd. Thursday after 11 AM followed by funeral services at 1 PM with interment at Toledo Memorial Park.
