Our Dear Dad, Larry Jackson Chevalier, 78, passed away unexpectedly December 26, 2019 at 4:18pm. A veteran of The United States Air Force, Larry was born July 14, 1941 in Gallipolis, OH to Cleo Jackson and Mary Margaret (Fraley) Chevalier. In 1959 he joined The United States Air Force and was assigned to refuel jets. Larry was proud of his service to our country and would light up at any opportunity to speak of his time served. After his honorable discharge from the Air-force in 1964, he hitch-hiked from Gallipolis, OH to Chicago, IL to take a job on the railroad. 38 years later, in 2002, he retired. Upon his retirement from the railroad, he began working beside his daughter, Andrea, at her establishment – Andrea's Sports Pub. For 18 years, he thoroughly enjoyed being there, with Andrea, handling "odds-and-ends" tasks. He retired from there December 2018. He is survived by Brenda Malcolm (mother of his 4 children), and his beloved children -- Greg (Melissa) Chevalier, Andrea (Jim) Gentry, Dustin Chevalier, and Kelly Clark; 12 cherished grandchildren Gavin, Colin, Ethan, Atalie, Gracie, Sophia, Jimmy, Bayli, Jordon, Kayla, Camren, and Brayden; 2 great grandchildren, Kamila and Kai; brothers David (Christa) Chevalier and Charles Chevalier.

That's enough of traditional obituaries. You see, we've never been a "traditional" family. Our Dad was different. In fact, he was one of kind. Our Dad loved and enjoyed many things, but he really appreciated a great steak and his Black Ford F-150. He also loved Netflix, and in this past year it became his number one "go to." Prior to his senior years, Dad enjoyed his motorcycles and good travel. He would hop on his bike and figure the destination out later. He taught us kids how to be honest and true to people. I always remember him telling me: "You get what you pay for. I'm a true believer." Oh -- the countless stories we have getting to this point! He was a selfless man that didn't judge, and he didn't speak a bad word against anyone. He took the hand he was dealt and did more than an amazing job. He has left 4 adult children that couldn't be prouder to call him Dad. We are so thankful for our life with him, yet we now feel so broken because he's gone. Dad, we all love you forever!!

Family will receive friends at the Castillo Funeral Home 1757 Tremainsville Rd. Thursday Jan. 2nd from 4 – 8 PM where a Celebration of Life Service will be held at 7:30 PM followed by Air Force Funeral Honors.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to offset funeral expenses.
