Liana Jene'
Lyons
May 31, 1951 — Jun 16, 2026
Toledo
Liana Jene’ Lyons was born May 31, 1951, in Toledo, OH. A lifelong resident, she transitioned on June 16, 2026, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Educated in the Toledo Public School System, a graduate of Harriet Whitney Vocational Technical High School; she went on to achieve her degree of Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Toledo, graduating August 24, 1996. After which she pursued a career in nursing, furthering a desire to aid those in medical distress. She married and bore a son who was tragically lost due to gun violence. Liana was an optimist who always looked for the best in other people. With an infectious smile she consistently brightened the lives of those who knew her. Full of wit and humor; life’s struggles and disappointments had an able adversary. A devoted daughter, she cared for her mother in her time of need. As a sister she did her best when dealing with two strong-willed younger brothers. With a strong maternal instinct, she inspired the sort of veneration that caused some to call her “aunty”. In her senior years she was “the little old lady with a cat”. Her cat “Socks” a black male with white paws was her comfort and companion.
She is survived by her brother Kenneth, sister-in-law Beth and her “sister by heart and soul” Sharlene. Her transition is preceded by that of her father Pinkey, mother Gertrude, son Curtis, brother Curtis and sister Toni.
