Obituary

Margaret Ostas passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday September 9, 2021at the age of 87. She was born in Macedonia to Daniel & Slava Zissoff and immigrated to the United States as a child graduating from Waite High School in 1951.

Margaret with her husband Stanley were well known restaurateurs in Toledo. In the 1960's, they owned the Doorbell Bar, then The Wheel Restaurant in downtown Toledo and The Balkan Inn in Sylvania and later starting their most successful accomplishment the El Matador Restaurants in Toledo and Findlay. Margaret was respected and loved by all her employees and customers.

She was a longtime member of St. George Cathedral in Rossford.

Margaret is preceded in death by her husband Stanley; sister Mary Ann Zissoff and brother Thomas Zissoff and is survived by her sons Michael (Linda), Stanley, Daniel and Nicholas (Laurie)' eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren; and brother-in-law Mincho (Irimoni) Ostas.

Family will receive friends at St. George Orthodox Church 738 Glenwood, Rossford, OH Sunday from 2 - 6 PM where funeral services will be held Monday at  11 AM.. Arrangements have been entrusted with the Castillo Funeral Home.
