IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Margarett "Marki"
Anne (Young) Aossey-Schwab
March 8, 1952 – June 21, 2025
Margarett Anne (Young) Aossey-Schwab, 73, of Toledo, OH, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 21st, 2025, surrounded by her children.
Marki was born on March 8th, 1952, in Toledo, Ohio to Catherine G. (Cousino) Young and Ralph H. Young. Marki graduated from Central Catholic High School.
Marki was preceded in death by her mother, Catherine, father, Ralph, nephew, Jeff, sister, Patricia, and her husband, Denny. She is survived by her sister, Catherine, brother, Michael, children, Nicole (Gabe), Aleasha (John), Darrell (Toni), Crystal (Brian), Adrienne (Mexicali), Matthew (Audrey), thirteen grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
Marki was born at St. Vincent's Hospital, the youngest of four. She often mentioned her time spent in "the woods" at her childhood home and the happiness that that time spent in nature had brought her. A hippie through and through, at seventeen-years-old, Marki snuck off to Woodstock, telling her mother that she was headed to a friend's cottage for the weekend (shh!).
Marki's empathy and love had no limits. As a young adult, she fostered many children. Later, her home became the house where her children's friends spent the summer. She offered a safe space to stay when anyone was in need. Once the nest was empty, Marki struggled to acclimate to the faded laughter and noise of children. She kept the TV on to overpower the silence.
Marki worked at MCO for over two decades, primarily working on the oncology floor, and was proud of her time and service there.
Marki was an avid reader, often bouncing between three books at a time, and amassing a library of her own in her home. When she wasn't reading, you could find her engaged in endless arts and crafts, from origami to rock painting, from folded book art to crocheting, and everything in between. Marki had a heart for animals, a home always full of pets, and the birdfeeders always full.
"She was like a second mom to me," are not unique words spoken of Marki. She valued her close friendships beyond measure. Her love was incapable of running out - it was felt far and felt deeply in our hearts, creating a heaviness with the missing of her. We can only hope to pass on even a fraction of her love through each of us.
