Matthew Shad Waldrop passed away unexpectedly August 24, 2024 at his residence in Denver, Colorado He was born on July 2, 1981 in Toledo and graduated from Whitmer High School in 1999.

Matt worked various carpentry jobs before relocating to work in Florida where he purchased a home in Stuart as he continued his education achieving a fireman certification, EMT and attended paramedics' school.

Life then took him on a different journey, moving to Michigan working as a ship crane operator, then relocating to Colorado for the past several years.

Matt loved being outdoors, singing, playing the guitar and listening to music. He was an avid Detroit Lions fan.

Matt was a very sensitive and caring son, brother, grandson and friend to all who had the joy of truly knowing him. He had a beautiful smile and keen sense of humor. Matt was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and always a devoted son of God.

He is survived by his loving mother; Elizabeth (Scott) Wilson, father Michael (Lisa) Waldrop, brother Scott and sister Brittney (Ryan) Early. Matt adored his nieces and nephews, Michael, Ava, Kylie, Austyn and Casey and admired his many aunts, uncles & cousins.

He is preceded in death by many loving grandparents and his beloved White German Shepard Checker.

Matt's family will receive friends at the Castillo Funeral Home 1757 Tremainsville Rd. Monday September 9th from 4- 7PM and Tuesday at Lutheran Church of Our Saviour 2820 Alexis Rd. after 10 AM followed by funeral services at 11 AM. Interment to follow at Toledo Memorial Park.
