Miguel (Mike) Juan Rodriguez, 65, of Fremont, OH passed away surrounded by his loved ones on February 29, 2024 at Promedica Toledo Hospital. He was born on July 6, 1958 in Fremont, OH, the son of the late Juan and Maria (Obregon) Rodriguez. He attended Gibsonburg High School as well as Vanguard Vocational School specializing in Cosmetology.

You'd often find Mike in the kitchen making his ever famous homemade tamales and salsa. He wore the name Tamale Mike or Mexican Mike proudly. Mike's Christian faith was an essential part of his life, and he spent a great amount of time in Africa as a missionary. His way of making others laugh was part of Mike's love language.

Mike is survived by his wife Rebecca Rodriguez of Toledo; children John Robert Rodriguez Sr. of Toledo, OH, Elisabeth Jordan Gryder of Richmond, VA; stepchildren Hector Ramirez, Elizabeth Ramirez, and Lorena Pecina all of Toledo, OH; grandchildren, John Jr., Alexia, Elijah, Emadiyana, and Jay Rodriguez, Zayden Gryder, Londyn Graham, Kalani and Kade Arboleda, Rebecca Stewart, Ezequiel Pecina, Phillip Bailey, Hector Jr., Halannah, and Dezman Ramirez, and 2 great grandchildren; siblings, Mary (Fernando) of Fremont, OH, Susie (Alex) Arriaga of Gibsonburg, OH, Rosario (Nacho) Medina, of Toledo, OH; Joe (Linda) Rodriguez of Moores Hill, IN, Jesus (Lydia) Rodriguez of Decatur, IN, many nieces and nephews.   He was preceded in death by his parents Juan and Maria, his sister Lupe Cardenas, and brother Ruben Rodriguez.

Family will receive friends at the Castillo Funeral Home 1757 Tremainsville Rd. in Toledo, OH on Thursday from 4 – 7 PM and Friday at 10 AM at St. Michael's Catholic Church 420 Sandusky St. where funeral mass will be held at 11 AM The outpouring of love and support has been graciously acknowledged. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made directly to the funeral home.
