Patrick Allen Young (Shaq), 63, passed away peacefully on January 20th, 2026 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Patrick was born on January 28th 1962 in Saltillo, Mississippi to Fred Allen Young and Lillie Mae (Crayton) Young. He became a Toledoan at 2 years old.

Patrick was a 1981 graduate of Woodward High School where he was a proud Polar Bear on the field. He continued his education at Findlay College. He was a military veteran, with years of Army service in the 80s.

On February 25th, 2000 Patrick married his soul mate Shari (Streight). 30 years side by side as husband and wife.

He retired in 2025 after over 30 years at Dean Foods (Frost Bite) as a mix maker.

Patrick's passion was sports. He was an avid fan of the Steelers and of the Celtics.

When Patrick wasn't engulfed in a game he was either taking a "Papa Nap" or spending time with the ones who made him a Papa. His memory continues on in the hearts of his wife, children and grandchildren, Austen (Amber) Adrina, Avery, Elijah, Sutton and Phoenix. Dominic (Lauren) Kyzer, and Kiya. Taylor (Jeremy) and LilliAnn.

Patrick was a loving eldest brother of 5, Glenda, Stan(Jill), Bridget and Dwight(Angie). He leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and many lifelong friends.

Patrick was preceded in death by his parents and lifelong friend Joey.

His family will receive friends at the Castillo Funeral Home1757 Tremainsville Road, after 12p.m followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 1 PM.
