Richard Lee Cassabon passed away on January 7, 2025 at University of Toledo Medical Center at the age of 74. He was born December 20, 1950 in Toledo to Franklin and Rose Marie (Simmons) Cassabon. Richard graduated from Maumee High School in 1969 where he excelled in sports. After high school, He served in the U.S. Army. Richard earned his Associates Degree in Civil Engineering from Owens Community College. He worked for various construction companies as a heavy equipment operator.

Richard was very active in his community; he worked with the Boy and Cub Scouts for over 20 yrs., belonged to several neighborhood groups that supported local business and beautified the neighborhood and he ran for City Council in 1993.

Richard loved music, reading history, science fiction and a special memory for his family was him reading on Christmas Eve "Twas the Night before Christmas".

He is preceded in death by his parents; sister Karen Belcher and brother Rodney Cassabon.

Richard is survived by his loving wife Ronda, whom he married in 1975; children Quandra (Christopher) Harris, Mariah, Frank, Charmaine (John)Pihajlic and Juan Hardin; grandchildren Raquelle, Zander, Connor, Marceline, Kaylee and Bradley; great grandchildren Viviana and Kinsley; brothers James (Michelle) and Franklin Cassabon.

His family will receive friends at the Castillo Funeral Home 1757 Tremainsville Rd. Sunday after 2 PM followed by a Celebration of Life Service and Army Funeral Honors at 4 PM.
