IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Rosemary
Jones
April 15, 1947 – October 22, 2024
Rosemary Huggins-Jones peacefully transitioned on to receive her eternal rest on October 22, 2024, at the Hospice of Northwest Ohio; after bravely facing a lengthy battle with cancer. Born on April 15, 1947, Rosemary had a pleasant childhood and upbringing. She was raised among a host of special loved ones in whom helped shape and mold her, many in which she shared some of her most precious memories with.
With resilience and dedication, Rosemary was led forward in pursuit of a bright future and success, becoming a graduate of Libbey High School. Shortly after graduation, she would meet her life partner, Robert Jones, in whom Rosemary shared a life with until his passing. Rosemary and Robert established their lives together in Toledo, Ohio where they were both born and raised. As years progressed, they continued to build with one another, eventually creating a family; raising and nurturing 5 children of their own.
Rosemary was an enthusiastic homemaker who took honor in the upkeep of a clean, comfortable, & welcoming home for her family and even all in whom she came in connection with. She was also an avid fisher, in which she extremely enjoyed, alongside her late husband Robert Jones.
Rosemary dedicated over a decade of her free time baby-sitting and nurturing grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. All who knew Rosemary, could attest that in her leisure time, she greatly enjoyed her favorite soap operas and sitcoms. Rosemary was also a woman of God, who grew up raised in a Baptist church. She was remarkably skilled in cooking, with her expertise being soul food meals. Rosemary also enjoyed baking; inheriting generational gifts passed down by her late mother Gerdie Louise Huggins.
Even as Rosemary's health began to decline, she still found solace in listening to her favorite old-school soul music, in which has always brought her great joy and contentment, especially at family gatherings. Rosemary's family meant everything to her, and she wholeheartedly adored and anticipated spending time with loved ones. Rosemary made it her priority to be the solid rock of the family and the tenacious glue. The mother, grandmother, sister, cousin, and friend that held everyone together. Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents, mother Gerdie Louise Huggins, father, Nathaniel Huggins, brothers Robert Nelson Huggins, Ronald Philip Huggins, Dwayne Huggins, and Nathaniel Finish Huggins. Sisters Elizabeth Joanne Huggins, Marion Louise Huggins Barker, Sharon Huggins Baker, Diana Huggins Pope, Leslie Thomas, and her dear husband, Robert Paul Jones.
Rosemary leaves to cherish and celebrate her memory, beloved sister Shirley Bell Thomas of Toledo, OH. Loving children: (sons) Richard Phillip Huggins, Marcel Eugene Huggins, Russell Allen Alexander Huggins of Toledo, OH, (daughters) Sonya Marie Jones- Roberts and Precious Amy Jones of Toledo OH, and an abundance of adored grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Special and honorary brother Lonnie Huggins, in whom Rosemary dearly embraced with her heart, sharing her most loving and fondest debates with concerning their mother.
"That's my mother, no that's my mother!" was their joyous but most cherished memories together.
Dearest in-law: Aunt Rosie Wiggins-Huggins, Elder Cousins: Rosalind Huggins, Wanita Huggins, Cheryl Huggins, Bruce Huggins, Duana Huggins, Paris D Huggins, James Huggins, Ryan Huggins, Michael Thomas, John Thomas, Anthony Huggins, Armand Thomas, Nathaniel Huggins, Allen Justice, Tonya Mershon, and her Wiggins, Thompson, Thomas, Barker, Baker, and Pope family.
Rosemary's family wishes to express our heartfelt gratitude to the staff at the Hospice of Northwest Ohio for their exemplary care for Rosemary in her last moments. We want to acknowledge the staff not only for their attentive care for our mother but their thoughtful consideration of our family as well. We hold it dear to our hearts the level of compassion we've received and immensely thank the Hospice of Northwest Ohio for making this difficult process a little more bearable.
