Ruth Marie (Thomas) Stammen peacefully passed away, after a short illness, Sunday November 3 in Columbus, OH.  Ruth is preceded in death by her husband Marvin "Beans" Stammen of 51 years.  Also her brothers Phillip  "Dick" Thomas, James Thomas and her sister Mary Bentley.  She leaves behind her 4 daughters Deborah (John) Rinto, Brenda (Pete) Davis, Linda (Daniel Crick) Kollar, and Patty Stammen.   Also, her treasured grandchildren Christopher (Rebekah) Ramlow, Matthew (Sarah) Ramlow, Adam (Paige) Ramlow, Thomas Rinto, AJ Davis and Jet Davis.  At 91, Ruth was a Great Grandma to Emerson and Harlan Ramlow, Everett Ramlow and her namesake Ruth Ramlow.  She was also an aunt, a cousin, a friend and a mentor to many.  She will always be remembered for her big brown eyes, her hardy laugh and her no nonsense attitude.

Ruth and Marv Retired to New Symrna Beach, Florida where she was active in costuming for the community theater; also crafting and volunteering with the woman's guild.  After Bean's tragic death she moved back to Ohio to be closer to family.

Education was very important to Ruth, a graduate of the Toledo Hospital School of Nursing.  She worked as an RN in the hospital, in long term care and in public health for many years. Because of her hard work, she was so proud to say that she supported each of her daughters' college educations.

There will be a Memorial Funeral Mass at St. Timothy Catholic Church 1088 Thomas Lane, Columbus, OH, 43220 on Wednesday Nov. 20 at 10:30 AM.
