Obituary

Theodore "Ted" Doolittle, 67, of Toledo joined the great cloud of witnesses on the morning of Friday, August 23, 2024. He died in the comfort of his home, surrounded by family.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, September 14 at 11 am at Mount Zion UB Church at 7481 Bays RD, Wayne, Ohio; Pastor Tim Sherman will be officiating.  Visitation will be held Friday, September 13 from 3pm-7pm and an hour prior to the service on Saturday.

Ted was born June 12, 1957 to Franklin and Jessie (Bateson) Doolittle. He married Linda (Haneline) Doolittle on March 15, 1980.

Ted was a 1975 Cory-Rawson graduate and went on to earn his bachelor's and master's degrees from Huntington College. He served 6 churches in his 41 years as an ordained minister in the United Brethren in Christ Church, retiring in 2021. He was involved in ministry after his retirement, up until his illness.

Ted had a love for the Lord, family, and his Christ-like spirit and ever-present smile meant he never met a stranger along life's road. An avid camper, he shared his love for adventure and the outdoors with his children and grandchildren. Ted was a skilled woodworker, and could often be found tinkering with new projects around the house or dreaming up new gifts to create for family and friends.

Ted is survived by: his wife of 44 years, Linda; children, Nathaniel Doolittle (Danielle) of Toledo, Natalie Doolittle-Shadel (Steven) of Chicago; grandchildren, Gibson, Owen, Haven, Boston, Stevie Mae, and Jackson Theo. By brothers: Don Doolittle, Chuck (Donna) Doolittle, Jim (Sue) Doolittle and Dave Doolittle and sisters: Winnie Doolittle, Becky (Bill) Patterson, Janet (Dana) Reed, Donna Roach, Diane (Dane) Erford. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Ted was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Patti Cramblit, and brothers-in-law Bob Cramblit and Randy Roach.
