William Thomas Duling of Toledo, Ohio passed away in his home on February 2, 2026. Bill was born on September 15, 1940, to Bernard and Katherine Duling. A graduate of Whitmer High School, his first job was at the Jersey Bread Company, where his father also worked. He served six years in the U.S. Army Reserve in the 1960s. Bill fell in love with Diane Imbery, and they were married on April 8, 1961, after which they were inseparable until Diane’s death in April of 2025 after 64 years of marriage. Bill went on to work in the insurance industry at Prudential and Federal Kemper before entering the world of sales, first at Valiton Motors AMC Jeep, then becoming self-employed as a used car wholesaler working with several local dealerships.Bill was always good for a laugh and loved his childhood friends, with whom he remained close throughout his life. He loved his nieces like his own children and was always there for anyone in need.He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Diane, his parents, Bernard and Katherine, his sister Theresa and brother-in-law Bill Schulz. He is survived by his children Reggie (Janina) and Rebecca (Mark), grandchildren Bryce, Blake, Logan, Evan, Carson, Ian, Jessica, and great-granddaughter Alice.Bill’s refuge was his huge garage, filled with tools to work on everything from cars to bikes to lawnmowers. He loved to collect antiques, model cars, and loved playing euchre at Bay View Yacht Club back in the day, and more recently spending time with Diane at the Friendship Park Community Center. Bill and Diane loved their annual visit to Washington and loved spending time with family and friends at their home in Toledo. He will be missed and remembered by those fortunate enough to know him.
