Beverly Ann Gilbert

Beverly Ann Gilbert “Mama Bev” was born in Sycamore, Illinois August 16, 1960, to Shirley Gilbert and Albert Gilbert.  She passed away at Toledo Hospital on February 6, 2022, at 11:03 PM; surrounded by many of those she loved dearly holding her granddaughter’s hand.  She was 61 years old.

Mama Bev spent most of her life living in Toledo as a homemaker but most importantly raising not only her son, but many of the neighborhood children and any child brought home by her son who may have needed a little extra love, a place to sleep or some food to eat.

She is survived by lifelong partner Carl Quinn, her only living son Albert (Jackie) Quinn, grandchildren Katina Quinn and Cassius Urban; along with all the children she claimed as her babies; brothers Albert Gilbert, Raymond (Amy) Quaintance and her sisters Susanna Elliott and Janice (Virgil) Williams and all her many nieces and nephews she loved as her own. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and Stepfather Raymond Quaintance, sister Paula Newby and three angel babies.  Her fur babies Damion and Amber will miss per to pieces.

Mama Bev will be deeply missed by all those who loved her and were blessed to have known her.

Her family will receive friends at the Castillo Funeral Home 1757 Tremainsville Rd, Saturday after 12 Noon followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 2 PM.
