Brandon Avila Abbott, age 44, died tragically on May 20, 2025, at the University of Toledo Medical Center.
Brandon was born August 25, 1980, to Larry and Augustine Abbott in Toledo, Ohio. He departed this life at the age of 44 years, 9 months, and 5 days.
Brandon attended Toledo public schools and graduated from Roger’s High School.
While attending McTigue Jr. High School Brandon was encouraged to wrestle and play football because of his unique size. He later went on to play football at Roger’s. Brandon received a football scholarship to Merced Junior College in California where he attended for a year.
Brandon trained in the Roger’s HS culinary program and consequently worked various jobs in local restaurants as a cook and chef. Although he worked various jobs, he enjoyed cooking. He knew his way around the kitchen and was well known for his culinary skills. He could cook anything, and everything he fixed tasted good!
Brandon was a kind and generous person. He was a man of few words but loved to joke and kid around with everybody. He always had a smile on his face and would laugh and joke even when things weren’t so good. He was not only a “giant “in stature, but a giant in heart. He was loved by so many, and we will truly miss him.
