Cedric Shantel Gray, Sr.

Cedric Shantel Gray Sr. gained his angel wings with his family and friends by his side on May 1, 2024 at the age of 51 years old. Cedric was born on May 9, 1972 to Samuel and Katie Gray in Mississippi. He was raised in Toledo, Oh, where he chose to remain and lay roots.

Cedric was preceded in death by his parents Katie and Samuel, Sisters FaTisha and Yolanda, and Grandson JaSaan. He leaves to cherish his memories three sons, Cedric Jr., Jordan, and John, a Honorary son, Antoine; five daughters, Kiara, Brittany, Jasmine, Shantel, and Myah; Brother, Michael (Tamiko): Grand-children, Z'Kijohn, Za’Len, Za'Chai, Ny’Jai, Verlando Jr., and Keishaun Jr.; Nieces, TaShayla and Mikayla and nephew Michael Jr.;Great-niece Salayah, Great-nephew Saveyon, Special cousins Ray and Dominique, Special friends Mary, Travis, Hosea and Roland along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, family, and friends.

Whether you knew Cedric as Shaun, Sluke, or Unk, he was nothing short of memorable. Cedric was a jack of all trades; he loved hands-on activities such as fixing and painting cars, carpentry, and repairing a variety of odds and ends. He was a true handy man and money making aficionado, whether it be by long hours of work or luck. During his free time, he enjoyed playing cards, dominos, shooting pool, fishing, traveling, and making family and friends laugh. He left a mark on everyone's heart. To know Cedric was to love him, he will be deeply missed by all!

His family will receive friends at the Castillo Funeral Home 1757 Tremainsville Rd. Friday from 4-7 PM and Saturday after 9 AM followed by Funeral Services at 11 AM. Memorial tributes may be made to his family via this website to help offset expenses.
