Clifford Eugene Hardiman

Clifford Eugene Hardiman was born December 3, 1948, to the late Clyde Preston Hardiman and Clementine (Carr) Hardiman in Pontiac, MI.Searching for a better opportunity, Clyde moved his family from Pontiac to Grand Rapids, Michigan in the early 1950’s.

“Cliff” as he was affectionately known as was educated in the Grand Rapids Public School system.  He attended South High School where he played the trumpet in the school’s band, He graduated in 1966. After high school, Cliff had aspirations to serve his country in the United States Marine Corp but was unable to,due to unforeseen circumstances. He would go on to follow his love for artistry by enrolling in the Detroit Institute of Arts. Eventually, Cliff began a three-decade career at Meijer, Inc. as a Hi-Lo Driver in the Lansing Distribution Warehouse.

Cliff met Janice Garmon and they later married on April 30, 1977. To this unionThree Kings would be born: Jolan, Jabari and Jamaal. In 1992, the young family relocated to Toledo, Ohio. Cliff was a talented and accomplished artist.  He enjoyed all things photography, pencil drawing, ping pong, and shooting pool.

Clifford entered into eternal rest on July 23, 2023, after a lengthy illness.  Cliff was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Clementine Hardiman, sisters, Janet Ruth Hardiman, Margaret Jean Rambo, and BarbaraGriffis.

He leaves to treasure his memory, 3 sons Jolan (Lori) Hardiman, Jabari (Kaycee) Hardiman,and Jamaal Hardiman, 3 brothers Clyde Hardiman, Clayton Hardiman, and Clemen Hardiman,and 2 sisters, Diana (Lonnie) McCullough and Deanna Hardiman.12 grandchildren, Jannessa, Akia, Tariq, Hadiya, Jaelyn, Dakota, Jaliyah, Zahra, Synai, Kya, Zaire, and Zoe.  3 great-grandchildren Carter, Arya, Da’leah, and a host of family and friends.

Clifford’s family will receive friends at the Castillo Funeral Home 1757 Tremainsville Rd. Monday after 3 PM followed by a funeral services at 5 PM.
