Damien Anthony Robinson

In loving memory of Damien Anthony Robinson Sr., who passed away unexpectedly July 26, 2022 in his home at the age of 37. Damien was born September 28, 1984 in Toledo, OH.

Damien was a devoted son, husband, father, brother, and uncle. He was a man who experienced considerable hardship in his childhood but overcame many obstacles and adversity He strived to do better and give back to his community. Damien had a passion in educating and encouraging youth and adults coming from similar backgrounds of recidivism: He used “physical culture” to impact change as a coach and mentor thru boxing and personal training programs in the Columbus area.

Damien enjoyed training in martial arts, specifically the Bando system, which played a pivotal role in his life journey and bringing him to Columbus.

 In addition, Damien was an avid reader who enjoyed studying and learning a vast number of topics ranging from philosophy and comparative religion to law and medicine. He was a brilliant and genuine soul, articulate in the manner he spoke, loving, and always fiercely protective of those he cared about. Although it is heartbreaking to witness his passing, his memory and story lives on in the hearts of all his family and friends.

Damien was preceded in death by his brother Joshua Staley, cousin David Carr; and aunts Dorothy Beckmann and Janet brown. Damien is survived by his wife Jennifer; son Damien Robinson, Jr.; daughter Eden Robinson; mother Jeanette Robinson; father Phil Candella; sister Jessica tuttle; brother Philippe Candella; cousins Christopher Stein and Alysia Henley; nieces Taryn O”Neil Staley and Kayliana Candella and nephew Phillippe Zaine.

His family will receive friends at the Castillo Funeral Home, 1757 Tremainsville Rd., Saturday August 6th after 10:00 AM followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 12:30 PM. Memorial tributes may be made to his family via this website to help offset expenses and support the family.
