Daryl Gene Mills

Daryl Gene Mills affectionately known as Doodie or “Uncle Doodie” was born July 12, 1969 and departed this life on April 16, 2025 at the Arbors of Oregon.

Daryl attended Pickett Elementary, McTigue Jr. High, Rogers High, graduating from Libbey High School in 1987 where he played football and attended Tiffin College on a football scholarship

He played in the marching band for the golden rule lodge (Elks) as a drummer, he belonged to The Golden Rule Lodge where he was the Exalted Ruler a Mason.

HE worked many jobs, he was a General Manager at Wendys, a manager at Frisch’s Big Boy, a Manager at Fresh Market, and a worker at a warehouse before his health started declining

Doodie loved his family.  No one could say anything bad about them especially his sisters and aunts. Doodie would come to family functions with candy for the kids who loved him dearly.  They were happy to see him.

Born to Royland & Vietta Mills who preceded him in death along with his big brother Royland Jr.

He leaves to cherish his great memories, sisters Jackie, Barbara, Cheryl and Kimberly: aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins and good friend Donnell Bell.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday May 3rd at St. Paul’s Missionary Baptist Church  1502 N. Detroit Ave. Wake beginning after 11 AM with 12 Noon Services.
