Sadly, our family lost its youngest, strongest, and bravest warrior, Devin Dailey, on the evening of Sunday, February 6, 2022 at the young age of 20 years old after fighting a lifetime of medical issues.
Devin Dewayne Dailey was born in Toledo on July 7, 2001 to Patricia Dailey & Donaciano Diaz and and graduated from Start High School in 2019.He was diagnosed with Henoch-Schonlein-Purpura (HSP) when he was very young. HSP causes the small blood vessels in your skin, joints, intestines and kidneys to become inflamed and bleed. For Devin, HSP affected his kidneys so badly that he had to have a transplant at the age of only 10. His prognosis wasn’t always favorable for him to live a very long life, but Devin never let it get him down. At his young age, he knew how to appreciate every day he was able to wake up and spend time with family and friends. Despite the pain, sickness, constant trips back and forth for dialysis, and hospital stays, Devin always saw the silver lining. He didn’t just see it for himself…he saw it for everyone else and made sure they would see it, too. Devin loved spending time with friends and family and was the star in many of his dad’s home videos (sometimes not even realizing it) and laughing in all of them. He enjoyed watching movies, playing video games, listening to music, cooking, and everything about cars.
Devin is survived by his mother Patricia Dailey, father Donaciano Diaz (Wheat), brothers Dylan, Justin, Trevor and Joey, and sister Alexia Sharp grandparents Beverly Dailey, Maria and Deland Solomon, nephew Sebastian, and many aunts uncles, cousins, and friends.
Family will receive friends at the Castillo Funeral Home 1757 Tremainsville Rd. Friday after 4 PM followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 7 PM. Memorial tributes may be made to his family via this website to help offset expenses.
