Henry J Szczur, Jr.

Henry John Szczur, Jr. passed away Saturday June 13, 2020 after a long courageous battle with COPD at the age of 61. He was born November 11, 1958 in Toledo to Henry & Alice (Yantz) Szczur, Sr. and was Baptized at St. Clement Catholic Church. Henry attended Whitmer High School. He enjoyed baseball and hockey which he played and was the enforcer, dropping the gloves whenever his team needed him to.

 Henry worked at Textile Leather and spent most of his career in cable sales.

He had a loving 29 yr relationship with Kathleen McNamara and together thaey raised 2 sons. Henry enjoyed sports and would play with his sons and their friends, he would also joke with them and make everyone laugh.

 Most of all his relationship with the Lord was his passion. Henry would carry his favorite book with him, his mother’s Bible. He had no problem preaching and praying with and for everyone he met. His Faith was inspirational and he practiced the fruits of the Spirit believing Love is gentle and kind.

He is preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law Mikki . Henry is survived by his sons Josh Szczur (Yolanda Chambers) and his mother Linda, Eddie and Dutch and their mother Kathleen; brother Marty Szczur; grandkids Lauren and Josh Jr.; niece Ashley; nephew Nick and great nephew Riley.

His struggles with his health led him to even a greater relationship with his Lord and Savior. Henry will deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

A Memorial Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church on Tuesday June 23, 2020 at 11 AM. Memorial tributes may be made to his family to offset expenses via this website and is greatly appreciated.
