James G Campos, Jr.

James “Jim” G. Campos, Jr., passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 20, 2020. He was born in Blissfield, MI on April 8, 1939 moving to Toledo at a young age and lived a long and happy life until God called him home. After a four year bout with tuberculosis and the loss of one lung, he finished his education and graduated from Macomber Whitney High School, a proud MACMAN. Education was very important to Jim and he stressed that to everyone in his family.

After completing his education, he worked as a printing press operator for 42 yrs.

James showed everyone he met his kind heart, loving spirit and his infectious smile. He would help anyone he could without a second thought. Jim loved dancing and never heard a song he couldn’t dance to. He loved reading books, watching movies and TV. He also enjoyed sporting events watching his sons and grandchildren compete and loved his Buckeyes and Steelers! He loved playing board games and just sitting and having a good conversation. Jim remained very active with the church, becoming a Commentator and Lay Minister. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Ancelmo & Ascension Campos; parents Maria Louisa Guiterrez Campos and James Campos, Sr.. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Inez (Hernandez); three sons Ancelmo J., Andre P. (Kathleen) and Alan C. (Dawn); nine grandchildren Adonis A., Athena J., Ancelmo J., Andre J., Ashley I., Alan M. and Alan A. (Heather), Alexandria G. and Aaron L.; 20 great grandchildren.

Jim’s wife Inez has asked that memorial tributes be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio for the loving care that they provided him.

His family would like to thank everyone for understanding the restrictions we face during these times. A Memorial Mass will take place at a later date so that everyone can pay their respects. Arrangements have been entrusted with the Castillo Funeral Home.
