James Allen Herzig passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday June 10th at the age of 66. He was born September 5, 1953 in Toledo to Otto, Sr. and Isabelle (Allen) Herzig. Jim formerly worked on the railroad and was self-employed.
Jim was proud of his family business JD Kiddie Rides, which provided amusement rides to families, he enjoyed the smiles and excitement for 17 yrs. He also was a talented and skilled pool player.
He always cherished the memories of fishing trips with his brother-in-law Jerry. Jim also played 7 Card Stud & Texas Holdem participating in the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas as well as tournaments in Detroit, Mount Pleasant and Elizabeth, IN.
Recently, Jim was ecstatic in acquiring 8 beautiful art murals that he had admired since he was young. Most of all, he loved his family and was most proud of his son Jason especially when he was in high school playing basketball never missing a game.
He is preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his wife Diane Herzig; son Jason Wagner; 3 sisters and 1 brother and his beloved pets Lexi, Chance, Candy Chopper and Lily.
His Family will receive friends for limited visitation (masks must be worn, 40 in building at a time, guest please limit your time so that others may have a chance to pay their respects and social distancing will be observed inside facilities) at the Castillo Funeral Home 1757 Tremainsville Rd. Tuesday after 4 PM followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 7 PM.
