Johnny Dallas Green

Johnny Dallas Green, 83, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2025, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, with his loving wife by his side. Johnny was born on June 1, 1941, to Virginia Dallas Pettaway and Raymond Green in Camden, Alabama. He married the love of his life, Lillian A. Griswold, on July 31, 1965, and they had three sons: Johnny II, Ramone, and Michael.

Johnny served in the US Army and Army Reserve from October 29, 1960, until August 22, 1966, achieving the rank of Specialist (E-4) before his honorable discharge. He was employed by Libbey Owens Ford for 35 years, where his dedication, kindness, humility, and work ethic never faltered.

Johnny had a wonderfully kind, sharing, friendly, and good-natured spirit. He was affectionately known to his wife of over 60 years as “Bae.” Johnny was the best dad to his sons, creating wonderful memories with them throughout his life. He also had a very special and wonderful relationship with his grandchildren, spending countless days at Erie Island fishing, boating,

swimming, and enjoying many other fun activities. Johnny’s amazing character attracted an immense number of children of all ages to love him and call him “Pops.” God allowed Johnny

the time to show his love to his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family, and friends.

Johnny is survived by his wife Lillian; sons Johnny II and Michael; grandchildren Allissa Jefferson, Rosalynda Escobar, Aliya Green, and Saintana Green; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son Ramone.

His family will receive friends at the Castillo Funeral Home 1757 Tremainsville Rd. on Thursday, May 1, 2025, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. The wake and funeral services will be at Spring Street Baptist Church 601 Spring St. Toledo 43608  on Friday, May 2, 2025, beginning at 11:00 am.
