Jose Sanchez

Jose Sanchez passed away Thursday September 18, 2025 in henry Ford Hospital-Gensys Grand Blanc, MI at the age of 90. He was born March 11, 1935 in San Antonio, TX to Canuto and Simona Sanchez.

At a young age. he went to work on the railroad but soon joined the U.S. Marines. Joe moved to Toledo where he got a job in food processing working for a various facilities eventually working for Teamsters Local 20 at Seaway Foodtown, where he retired.

While in Toledo he met the love of his life Ramona Navarro, who he married. They spent their time together dining out, traveling and bowling in leagues at east Toledo and south end bowling alleys.

Joe thoroughly truly enjoyed music; he and Ramona would go dancing all the time  or he would play Mexican songs on the piano or accordion. For the last four years,  Joe and Ramona lived in Grand Blanc, MI with his son and daughter-in-law Gil and Anne where they enjoyed seeing all the wildlife.

Jose is preceded in death by his brothers Marcellino Guardiola, Raul Guardiola, Rouel Sanchez, twin brother Jesus Sanchez and his one and only loving  sister Estella Sanchez; he is survived by his wife Ramona; children Cheryl Sanchez, James Sanchez, Joe (Lisa) Sanchez and Gilbert (Anne) Garza; grandchildren Sonia Sanchez-Pecina, Marcos Pecina, Tony Flores, Justin Pecina, Joey Sanchez-Lozoya, Jenny Sanchez, Christian Sanchez, Amber Sanchez, Avery Garza, Lauren Burchette and Dawn Easley; 23 great grandchildren and 14 great great grandchildren.

His family will receive friends at the Castillo Funeral Home 1757 Tremainsville Rd. Saturday 12 PM – 3 PM with a Catholic prayer service at 1 PM. memorial tributes may be made to Valley Area Agency on Aging 225 E. Fifth St.  #200 Flint, MI 48502
