Juanito Luis Cortez

Juanito Luis Cortez, age 32 of Toledo Ohio passed away unexpectedly on May 11, 2023. He was born in Toledo Ohio on June 9, 1990 Sherri Huerta and John Cortez.

Juan (Nito) was a loving son, brother and father to his beautiful girls Ayshah and Amilliana Cortezwho cherished his family and friends. He would go above and beyond for anyone, if you needed him he would be there no matter what. He was loyal to whoever had the privilege to meet him and a heart of gold who only sought the same love he gave to others. He loved playing and watching sports with his family and friends, and his favorite team was the Tennessee Titans. He was an amazing singer and loved a variety of music. He was a great cook, and loved being in the kitchen with his mom and grandma, was always joking around trying to make everyone laugh, he had such a strong sense of humor. He loved being surrounded by his family and friends. He was always the life of the party and could turn any situation into something positive, always giving advise and helping others fight through their battles. Juan faced many of his own battles and tried his best to do right by his family, and give his life to Christ.

Juanito is survived by his children: Ayshah and Amilliana Cortez, Mother: Sherri (Paul) Huerta, Father: John (Lisa) Cortez. Brother: Elijah Samuel and Sisters: Jessica and Jenna Huerta.

Aunts: Angie Cortez, Jackie (Tony ) Ribas, Rebecca Cortez, Linda Vasquez, Leslie (Brad) Varner. Uncles: Johnny Vasquez, Junior Gordon, Joe (Jody) Gordon, Benito Gordon.

Cousins: Alicia (Todd), Louciano, Lorenzo Cortez, Tony, Alex, Alonzo Ribas, Catarino Hernandez Jr and Emilio Ruiz, Anthony Vasquez and Angelica Perez, Aava and Bradford Jr Lovett, Kevin and Taylor Vasquez, Ernesto, Heavenly, Gregoria and Jacob Gordon, Aylisia, Estevan (Pito), Benito, Emilio Gordon. Niece: Elayjah Kelly, Nephews: Jesiah and Valentino (James) Cortez.

Juanito was preceded in death by his Sister: Jeanette Cortez. Great Grandparents:Benito and Gregoria Vasquez, Virginia and John Cortez. Grandparents: Eddie Sr and Frances Gordon, Jesse (Popo) Huerta, Virginia Jaimez-Cortez, Aunts: Anita Vasquez, Mary Ramirez, Sandy Laster, Oralia Jaimez, Helen Cortez-Miller. Uncles: Louie Cortez, Michael Cortez, Ben Huerta. Cousins: Juanito Vasquez, Catarino Hernandez Sr, Avery Joe and Arielle Lovett, Devin Vasquez.

Juanito’s family will receive friends at the Castillo Funeral Home 1757 Tremainsville Rd. Sunday from 2 -7 PM and Funeral Mass will be held Monday at 10 AM in Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Church 738 S. St. Clair, Toledo.
